The Wilson Whirligig Festival supports art and culture within Wilson and wants to encourage young people to explore their talents. Each summer the Wilson Whirligig Festival sponsors a child to attend an art camp held by the Arts Council of Wilson and a science camp held by Imagination Station Science Museum. Nominate a student for a Summer Camp Scholarship -
The Wilson Whirligig Festival will consider sponsoring students to any of the summer camp held at the Arts Council or Imagination Station. Students must first be accepted to the summer camp. Sponsorship will be considered for students that demonstrate enthusiasm for the camp program and financial need. Scholarships will be offered as funding resources are available. Scholarship are considered on a first-come-first served basis.
Scholarship applications are available at both the Wilson Arts Council and Imagination Station.
To apply for the Wilson Whirligig Festival Summer Camp Scholarship, attach the completed application to your summer camp registration. The camp administrators will forward your request to the festival. Make sure to include a letter explaining financial need and desire to attend the particular camp or program. The festival will respond to the summer camp administrators with available funding.
Qualifications:
The student must be a Wilson County resident and in good standing with the school they attend.
The student must be enrolled in elementary or middle school (grades 1st - 8th).
The student must first be accepted to the summer camp program, then apply for the scholarship.
If granted, the scholarship funding will be sent directly to the camp program, not the student. |
